| Objectives |
Upon completion of this course the students will be able to:
Define various types of computer network & network topologies.
Identify the various components of a computer network.
Describe network models and understand Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI and wireless networks.
Understand data routing and common network protocols.
Discover a TCP/IP services.
Describe the basics of the network operating systems in use today.
Study different TCP/IP trouble shooting utilities and implement network trouble shooting procedures.
Establish network share and account
Configure network printers.
Distinguish the different methods used to connect networks together through the public carrier services.
Understand different methods of remote networking.
Apply disaster recovery and advanced data storage techniques.
Ensure network security.

| Prerequisites |
We designed Network+ for students with 12-18 months of professional computer experience.
It is assumed that you have a general working knowledge of personal computers, some network experience or have taken the following courses or equivalent experience:

Hands on activities include 10 laboratory sessions featuring:
Fabricating cables and identify different network hardware
Implementing a network
Installation of hardware and software
Using Linux, Novell and Microsoft Windows network
Trouble shooting connectivity problems
Creating user accounts and groups
Installing network printer

| Exam Information |
Conventional multiple choice test; 72 questions in 90 minutes. Pass Mark: 646 (Scale 100 – 900)
The exam tests the following four subject areas :
Media and Topologies (20%)
Protocols and Standards (25%)
Network Implementation (23%)
Network Support (32%)
Students often progress to more advanced IT certifications, such as Microsoft MCSA, MCSE and CISCO CCNA and CCNP
