  >  terms and conditions
Fees for your course can be paid either in full or in monthly instalments. If you are paying in instalments then you must pay the monthly fees in advance, at the start of each month.

Fees are not refundable if you postpone or cancel your course, except in exceptional cases at the discretion of the Directors of the school. In such a case you will be charged a £200 cancellation fee.

If your visa is refused, we will refund your deposit and course fees (if you have paid them) less any bank charges incurred. In such a case you must present the original document from the Visa Clearance Officer, giving the reasons for the refusal and you must inform the school at least one week before the start of your course. Registration fees are non-refundable. However, if we are unable to offer you a place on a course, we will refund any fees you have paid including the deposit and registration fee, less any bank charges.

If you study on an Intensive General English course, you may receive a discounted rate. To receive any discount on course fees all your fees must be paid by the start of your course. If you decide to extend your course, depending on the number of weeks you extend by, you may receive a further discount.

If you are studying for 10 weeks or more and want to take a holiday during your course, you must tell the school at least four weeks before the start of your holiday. We do not refund fees but add the weeks that you take as holiday to the end of your course.

You must pay for any damage you cause, either to the school premises or to your accommodation. The school may terminate a student's course in the case of serious misconduct or repeated absence without good reason.

All QiT courses are undertaken at the students own risk. QiT Solutions cannot be held liable for damage or accident to students persons or property. Students are strongly recommended to take out personal insurance before departure to cover themselves for this and if they unexpectedly finish their course early.

The school reserves the right to cancel or change the dates, times, fees or any other details relating to courses at our discretion.

If you have a complaint, please talk to the school director, who will listen and act to try and resolve the problem.

Equal Opportunities
QiT Training is committed to a policy of eliminating discrimination, and seeks to promote equality of opportunity for all. These statements have an important role in setting and maintaining the standards which should be in operation. As a student you have a duty to uphold this policy in relation to teacher and students.
Disciplinary Procedure
QiT Training has designed this procedure to help and encourage all students to achieve and maintain standards of conduct and attendance during their time here. This procedure applies to everyone here and aims to ensure consistent and fair treatment for all.

Principles
  • No disciplinary action will be taken until a case has been fully investigated.
  • At every stage the student will be advised of the nature of the complaint against them and will be given the opportunity to state their case before any decision is made.
  • The student will have the right to appeal against any disciplinary measure imposed.
  • The disciplinary procedure may be implemented at any stage if the student’s conduct or performance warrants such action.
  • All warnings will be considered spent after a specified period, subject to satisfactory improvement.
  • At every stage in the procedure the student will have the right to be accompanied by a colleague or witness.

    Stages of the Disciplinary Action
Minor faults will be dealt with informally but where the matter is serious the following process will be used.
  • You will be given one verbal warning and one written warning and then asked to leave the programme.
  • You will be given written confirmation that a verbal warning has taken place and this will also be kept in your file. In general, a verbal warning will have a time limit attached, such that, subject to a suitable improvement in the matter of concern it will be ‘spent’ at the end of the period specified.
  • Generally most warnings are given for bad attendance/timekeeping or standards of behaviour. If you are taken off the scheme for any of these reasons the relevant authorities will be informed and this may affect your visa entitlement in the UK.

    Instant Dismissal
There are certain levels of behaviour that will not be tolerated and you will be made to leave the programme immediately. These include:
  • Violent or aggressive behaviour to anyone
  • Substance abuse (including drugs and alcohol)
  • Theft
  • Acts of Vandalism
  • Failure to observe health and safety requirements
  • Failure to achieve required hours in a week

In addition, anyone suspected of criminal activity at the Centre will be reported to the police.
  • Non Attendance of Students
All students at QiT Training are subject to the disciplinary policy, in addition private full time students are required to abide by the conditions laid down in the Attendance Policy contained in the students induction pack. This policy is to lay out the conditions under which the disciplinary procedure is to be invoked and what measures are to be taken should any student be dismissed.

    Invoking the Disciplinary Policy

    1. Breach of the code of conduct

Any breach of the code of conduct signed at the time of induction will be regarded as invoking the initial stage of the disciplinary policy, significant ongoing disruption, non-attendance or problems will invoke further stages as laid down in the procedure.

    2. Non Attendance as a Reason for Invoking the Disciplinary Procedure

If the student has failed to attend and notify QiT Training of the reason for their non attendance for more than 1 week the disciplinary procedure will be invoked at stage 1. If the student does not respond within 1 week of being telephoned or 2 weeks of a letter being sent, stage 2 is to be implemented, including if considered appropriate contact with the responsible next of kin or emergency contact person. If the student still makes no contact or des not re-appear after a further 2 weeks they are to be exited, the Home Office informed, and copies of the letter to the Home Office is to be forwarded to the student at all contact addresses.

    3. Non-Attendance Due to Ill Health, Personal or that of a close Friend or Relative

If the student is unable to attend due to ill health they must contact QiT Training immediately and remain in contact on a regular basis until they return to their studies. If the period of sickness exceeds a third of the course duration, either as a single or a accumulative period the student will be exited on the grounds of incapacity to complete the course (Note: a restart may be re-negotiated taking into account the work the student has already done at the discretion of the Management of QiT Training). Again, the Home Office will be notified as soon as the decision is reached and copies of the letter will be sent to the student.

    4. Holidays and Time Off During QiT Training Term Times

The student is expected to attend for 100% of their course time and lectures, any other activities are expected to be arranged around the agreed course times. However, in the event that they cannot (e.g. family wedding or funeral) then the centre is to be notified prior to the student attending. If there is no prior notice see part 2 above.

    5. Cumulative Time Off in Term Time

If the student accumulates days missed amounting to, or exceeding a third of their course duration from all sources then they will be expelled on the grounds of incapacity to complete the course. At the discretion of the management they may be readmitted the following term and given credits for any work undertaken during their previous course.
